YEREVAN. – Over 71 cases of encroachment on sexual inviolability were registered last year, as compared to 82 in 2010, police informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The crimes included cases of rape, attempt of rape, sexual assault, forcing to sexual assault, and committing a sexual assault to an underage person.

2011 registered 10 cases of rape against 11 in 2010. At the same time, cases of sexual assault increased last year making 11 against 9 in 2010.

Yet, cases of committing a sexual assault to a person under 16 decreased last year making 39 against 49 cases in 2010.
