YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Artik City Police Chief Artur Petrosyan is busy with carrying out campaign for the ruling coalition’s Rule of Law Party (RLP) toward the upcoming National Assembly elections, Zhoghovurd daily writes.

“What is more, according to our information, he has turned the Police Force’s Artik Precinct into the unofficial campaign headquarters of his RLP-member brother Hunan Petrosyan, who is nominated with the majority election system. The Police Force, however, denied this information, and noted that Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan has strictly forbidden the police to indulge in politics. But it seems [Artur] Petrosyan is prepared to breach all laws and orders for the sake of his brother’s parliamentary mandate, and in the future this could become a serious obstacle for his position,” Zhoghovurd writes.
