YEREVAN. – The activists, who are waging a battle against construction of kiosks at Armenian capital Yerevan’s Mashtots Park, are getting ready for a sit-in, since the police and the barriers are making it impossible for the activists’ disassembling brigade members to approach the Park’s kiosks and dismantle them (photo).

The activists are joined by several opposition Heritage Party MPs, and Sardarapat Movement members.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, several hundred activists are gathered at Mashtots Park, but the police outnumber them, and they are equipped to carry out special measures.

In their earlier-released statement, the environmentalist noted that their disassembling brigade consists of ten people. They are wearing green outfits and hard hats.

And Yerevan Police Chief Nerses Nazaryan told news reporters that, “if the activists try to carry out unlawful actions, the police will be forced to take appropriate measures.”
