According to the data of the first half of 2026, about 3,000 citizens of other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries have officially worked in Armenia, acting head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia, Nelli Davtyan, announced at a press conference Friday.

Davtyan informed that the nationals of the other EAEU countries are exempt from the need to obtain a visa or any status in Armenia, and just a work certificate is enough. According to available data, 2,937 citizens of the other EAEU countries have worked in Armenia in the first half of 2026, which is about 2,500 more than the previous year.

According to the data of the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia, a positive balance was registered during the specified period: 1,347 nationals entered Armenia more than they left. A total of 871,409 citizens of Armenia entered the country. But in the first half of the last and the year before last, the difference was negative and exceeded 20 thousand. During the same period, 57,953 foreigners crossed Armenia’s border.

Also, 9,534 nationals applied for temporary residence status in Armenia, and more than 6,000 such applications were approved. Both indicators have tripled compared to previous years. A total of 2,085 citizens received permanent residence status in Armenia, which is considerably more than the indicators of previous years.

Also, 358 applications for asylum in Armenia were received, and 94 were approved. Almost half of the cases were denied.

The state register of Armenia is being reformed, added the acting head of the Migration and Citizenship Service.
