YEREVAN. – UK Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Aves urged the Armenian authorities to make more clear proposals on cooperation with EU in the light of Armenia’s intention to join Customs Union.

Armenia and EU are discussing the situation, and “we are trying to find the right format to continue cooperation,” he said during the Monday press conference.

The EU is concerned over the fact that Armenian authorities claim that the September 3 statement did not change their willingness to have close ties with Europe.

Speaking about Armenia’s decision, Ambassador Aves noted that he had heard disappointment and surprise from the European colleagues. However, he personally, believes it is necessary to encourage the Armenian authorities to present easier and more precise proposals on the areas where cooperation is possible. Ambassador Aves noted that both sides have willingness to continue relations.
