YEREVAN. – In Britain, it would be impossible to make such a big decision without discussion in parliament and the media, British journalist and writer Lance Price said commenting on Armenia’s decision to join Customs Union.
Expressing his personal opinion on the decision, he said UK was supportive of signing Association Agreement with the countries.
“We have shared values of democracy, of transparency and of human rights, which I believe are very important,” said Price, former media advisor to PM Tony Blair.
Lance Price noted that what disappoints Europe is the lack of arguments that were behind the decision to join the Customs Union.
“EU is an economic club as well as community of nations that share values: transparency, human rights, free and fair elections. If these are the values you share, we would be very happy to continue the discussion,” he said, stressing that he is not spokesperson for EU and is expressing his personal opinion.
