YEREVAN. – An Armenian delegation, led by National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, on Monday participated in the 129th assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The meeting was convened in Geneva, Switzerland. 

The participants discussed IPU membership and the reports by the president and the secretary general of the organization. In addition, the IPU 2014 program and draft budget were introduced, informs the NA press service.

The event brought together about 1,200 delegates from 125 countries, and the heads of the parliaments of 45 countries.         

Inter-Parliamentary Union President Abdelwahad Radi delivered opening remarks at the assembly.
