YEREVAN. – The Armenian coalition government’s junior partner, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party National Assembly (RLP NA) Faction Secretary Mher Shahgeldyan will represent the faction in the NA delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).   

RLP NA Faction leader Heghine Bisharyan noted the above-mentioned to news reporters on Thursday.

In her words, at the time when the delegation was formed, the RLP Faction had submitted Shahgeldyan as its candidate. But a decision was made that the composition of the delegation will be changed one year later, and with the principle of rotation.

“Our faction has waited for an entire year and now, that rotation has occurred. Mher Shahgeldyan will represent our faction in the Armenian delegation to the PACE,” Bisharyan stated. 

She also stressed that, prior to this rotation, the delegation comprised three MPs from the authorities and five others from the opposition. After the changes, however, there will be an equal representation, with four MPs, each.
