YEREVAN. – More than a dozen issues were examined at Wednesday’s session of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA).

Committee Chairman Anatoly Vyborny stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday. 

On his part, Committee Coordinator, ruling republican Party of Armenia MP Khosrov Harutyunyan noted that Wednesday’s discussions were primarily about the military and political situation in the Caucasus. In this context, the factors affecting Armenia’s national security were examined, too.

“We exchanged views on matters such as the level of accumulation of arms in the region, the process of militarization, and the Azerbaijani threats against Armenia,” Haruyunyan said.  

He added that the discussants concluded that the CSTO PA format should receive a new stimulus.
