YEREVAN. – Foreign Affairs Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received European Parliament member Milan Cabrnoch, who is European Chairman of the European Union (EU)-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Cabrnoch has arrived in Armenia to participate in the Cooperation Committee Bureau session.
Nalbandian underscored the need to develop and deepen relations with EU.
The interlocutors discussed the resolution which the European Parliament had passed last week, and with respect to the European Neighbourhood Policy.
In this context, Armenia’s FM noted that this document’s formulations concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh issue conflict with the official position of the European Union, and also with the approaches by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
The minister added that the persons behind such formulations must realize that they bear responsibility for their possible adverse effects on the settlement process, and for undermining the co-chairs’ efforts to peacefully settle the Karabakh conflict.
Edward Nalbandian and Milan Cabrnoch also reflected on the future projects and the steps to be taken within the framework of parliamentary interaction.
