YEREVAN. – The CSTO member states are acting within the framework of the legal acts and norms that are approved by them and there is no act prohibiting the sale of weapons, Russian MP said.

Anatoly Vyborniy, head of Russian parliament’s standing committee on defense, answered the questions regarding weapon sales during the press conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.

According to the CSTO charter, organization must respond to aggression, one of the journalists noted, asking whether it is right that CSTO member states are selling weapons to Azerbaijan that is threatening Armenia’s security by its actions.

“It is time to raise the issue. CSTO is a young organization. This is the only organization that is trying to peacefully prevent conflicts, resolve them. All the problems raised by CSTO member states are voiced during the plenary session of the CSTO PA,” Vyborniy replied.

He recalled that the member states are not banned from selling weapons, according to the CSTO charter.
