YEREVAN. – The deepening of relations with the European Union (EU) is a priority of our country, and therefore an appropriate formula needs to be found to expand of bilateral cooperation. 

Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan stated the aforementioned Wednesday at his talk with European Parliament member Milan Cabrnoch, who is European Chairman of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

The PM also welcomed the holding of the Committee Bureau session in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, informs the Armenian Government press service. 

“Armenia looks toward diversifying its foreign relations. According to international experts, the risks are quite high in the region, and security is of paramount importance to us,” the Premier said.   

In Sargsyan’s words, despite Armenia’s membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the country continues to expand cooperation with NATO, too.  

On his part, Cabrnoch likewise underscored the need to expand bilateral cooperation and stressed the necessity for closer parliamentary ties. He also expressed confidence that the visa facilitation agreement also will contribute to the expansion of Armenia-European Union relations.  

In addition, the interlocutors discussed several other regional and international matters.
