As of Sunday, Valery Semerikov has assumed the duties of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General, according to RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

“In connection with the completion of CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Nikolayevich Bordyuzha’s  duties on December 31, 2016, the duties of CSTO Secretary General are given to CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Anatolyevich Semerikov,” reads the respective CSTO statement.

Bordyuzha had held this office since 2003.

Armenia is also a member in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
