The German police arrested 38-year-old Syrian citizen Hassan A., who was planning to implement a terrorist attack at the New Year eve, reports DW. He was supposed to use a vehicle marked with a police sign and run over the crowd, reports the DW.
According to one of the versions, the man contacted with a potential supporter of the Islamic State via Telegram, who is from Raqqa. The Law enforcement agencies have received the given correspondence, after they had gained an access to his mobile.
The Syrian denies the accusations, claiming that he made that story to receive financial support - 180 thousand euros - from the IS and transfer it to his family in Syria. The police also tend to conclude, that the man was primarily guided by financial reasons.
