The EU should consider the possibility of restricting UK's access to the EU’s single market, in case the UK refuses to follow the four economic freedoms of the EU during negotiations on Brexit. This was announced by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, reports Reuters. According to her, negotiations cannot be conducted based on "cherry picking."

According to the Chancellor, it is important to make it clear, that access to the EU single market can only be possible on the condition of respecting the four fundamental freedoms. " Otherwise one has to talk about limits [of access]," said Merkel.
