A resident of Mosul, Iraq, has named his son in honor of US President Donald Trump, according to The Washington Post.

Hassan Jamil, 25, a Kurdish peshmerga fighter, had told his wife that if a boy was born, he will name him after the incumbent US president.

The young man kept his word, and the boy, who was born on November 23, 2016, was named Trump Jamil Hassan.

The newspaper writes that the father is proud of his decision.

“What I like most and admire about Donald Trump is that he’s a confident man and a successful businessman,” said Jamil. “He became a leader because he has self-confidence, otherwise he wouldn't be president.”
