Turkish MP Selina Dogan congratulated Gladys Berejiklian on her appointment as Prime MInister of Australia’s' New South West.
In her message to Berejiklian, the Turkish politician of Armenian ethnicity, recalled that Armenians were scattered around the world following atrocities that happened 100 years ago, Demokrathaber reported. She further stressed that, despite the fact that the Armenians are minority in different countries, however, Armenian women try to overcome all difficulties.
“We, the Armenian women, are forced to defend gender equality, peace and try to be engaged in politics amid all these difficulties. We have to be as strong as Zabel Yesayan. As an Armenian woman engaged in politics in Turkey, I congratulate you and express my solidarity. I would be happy to host you as a guest in Turkey,” Dogan wrote.
