U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Syria during a phone talk, RIA Novosti reported quoting Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

At the same time Peskov did not answer the question whether results of negotiations in Astana and the forthcoming meeting in Geneva was discussed.

 Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had a phone conversation on Saturday.

Trump and Putin discussed “partnership” on a wide range of international issues, including wars in the Middle East, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Iran’s nuclear program. Some of the other issues included restoring trade ties, international terrorism, the situation in Ukraine and the Korean Peninsula, as well as coordination of military action against ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria.
