A boat with illegal migrants, who were trying to reach the coast of Greek Lesbos island, sank in the north of the Aegean Sea, Anadolu reports.

The boat with 46 migrants, including 8 women and 7 children, set off from Ayvacık district of Turkey. However, the boat engine broke down when the boat was at a distance of two miles from the coast, following which it began taking in water against the backdrop of storm. The coastguards managed to rescue 45 people, who were nationals of Syria, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Cameroun.

A woman from Ethiopia has gone missing. She is being searched by two boats and a helicopter.
