YEREVAN. – Opposition Freedom Party Chairman, former PM, and MP Hrant Bagratyan, assured that the introduction of an across-the-board declaration of assets will help solve several problems in Armenia. 

To note, Bagratyan is second on the Free Democrats Party’s proportional representation list for the forthcoming parliamentary election in the country.

He told Armenian News-NEWS.am that if the mandatory declaration of assets applies solely to bureaucrats, they can easily hide their income and property by registering everything in the names of their close circles. But if this mandatory declaration of assets applies to everyone in Armenia, the officials will no longer be able to hide their income and deceive the people.

In addition, as per Hrant Bagratyan, the introduction of an across-the-board declaration of assets will help reduce shadow turnover, and trade and services will be taxed more clearly in Armenia.
