YEREVAN. – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Minsk Group (OSCE MG) needs to get more active in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Academician Anatoly Torkunov, on Saturday stated the aforesaid at the Moscow-based international Valdai Discussion Club’s outdoor session, entitled “Time of Change: World in the Era of Global Unpredictability,” in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

In his words, the resources of the OSCE MG are not exhausted.

“The work must continue, as setbacks occur in such a process, since this is not an easy task,” noted Torkunov. “And I believe that the interferences need to be surmounted and persistently move ahead toward the objective; naturally, by showing circumspection.”

And when asked by the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter as to how it will be possible to resume the Karabakh peace talks when Azerbaijan violates the respective agreements that are reached, the MGIMO rector responded: “You know that negotiations are always possible if there is a desire; but this is not an easy process. [But] I want to believe that the talks on this matter will resume.”
