YEREVAN. – The system of voting on regional electoral lists is a positive phenomenon in Armenia, from the viewpoint of empowering the individual, said Karine Hakobyan, an MP candidate from the Armenian Revival Party, at a press conference on Monday.
But she added that there are two electoral lists—proportional representation and regional representation, and they contradict one another.
“From this viewpoint, the [forthcoming parliamentary] elections can be really unpredictable.,” noted Hakobyan. “[But] this also has a positive side, since I believe that positive changes are possible.”
The parliamentary election in Armenia will be conducted on April 2.
