YEREVAN. – Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan on Saturday received the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Co-Chairs—Ambassadors Igor Popov of Russia, Stéphane Visconti of France, and Richard Hoagland of the United States of America—and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.

They discussed the situation regarding the Karabakh conflict, the present-day situation along the line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijan armed forces and the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, and the events that occurred ever since the previous similar talk with the co-chairs, the Ministry of Defense informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Armenian defense minister drew the interlocutors’ attention on the most recent incidents that occurred at the frontline, and he welcomed the respective targeted reaction by the Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

And as an important guarantee for the effectiveness of the Karabakh peace talks, Sargsyan stressed the need for introducing mechanisms for monitoring the situation and investigating the incidents at the frontline, and, thus, the forming of a climate of mutual trust.
