YEREVAN. – Starting large-scale hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) is not in Turkey’s interests.
Giro Manoyan, head of the Political Affairs Bureau and the Armenian Cause Office of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, noted about the above-said at a press conference on Tuesday.
In his words, developments in Syria do not bespeak Turkey’s success, since Ankara had a much greater “appetite.”
“Nonetheless, one can never rule out Turkey and Azerbaijan taking certain steps in our region, to distract,” Manoyan stressed. “But I don’t think starting large-scale military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh is in Turkey’s interests; this will include other countries: Iran, and Russia. I don’t think Turkey would wish to create such situation in the region.”
