EREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Karen Karapetyan, on Wednesday received a delegation, led by President Shinichi Kitaoka of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The PM highly appreciated Japan’s assistance toward the sustainable economic development in Armenia, and noted that the Armenian government is interested in expansion of bilateral cooperation.

Also, Karapetyan underscored the development of Armenia-Japan trade and economic relations, and stressed JICA’s assistance to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia. 

Kitaoka, in turn, assured that his agency will continue collaborating with Armenia, and stated that they attach importance to the exchange of know-how and conduct of training programs with Armenia’s specialists in disaster management. 

In addition, the JICA chief noted that he is impressed by the emergency response and prevention system of Armenia, and he assessed the readiness level of the country’s respective specialists as excellent.
