YEREVAN. - Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan on Thursday received Director of the Office of Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), Jean-Louis Atangama Amougou.

Underscoring the importance of developing cooperation with OIF and member states, Karapetyan touched on the preparation to the 14th summit of heads of states and governments of La Francophonie, which should take place in Armenia in 2018, the press-service of the Armenian Government informed  Armenian News – NEWS.am

The PM stressed that an interagency commission on the preparation and holding the summit has been set up under his leadership. Besides, a working group has been formed in the Armenian MFA. In Karapetyan’s words, the Armenian Government will exert all necessary efforts for organizing the event at a high level. He also noted that the summit may become a good platform for discussing issues and programs aimed at the development of cooperation between the member states of the organization.

Jean-Louis Atangama Amougou, for his part, highlighted the active cooperation between Armenia and the OIF, expressing conviction that the summit will be held in the best possible way. He stressed that he is impressed with the work for the preparation to the event, noting that the summit to be held in Armenia will become a festivity for the OIF members.
