An unidentified person armed with a knife attacked two police officers nearby the Buckingham Palace, in downtown London, Scotland Yard said in a statement.

The man attacked the law enforcement officers when they attempted to detain him.

Two officers were slightly injured, but they were provided medical assistance on location and did not need to be hospitalized, reported The Associated Press.
