State Department's third-ranking official, Thomas Shannon will meet with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in Helsinki.
The US officials say the pair will hold several rounds of talks on multiple issues on Monday and Tuesday. Topics will include strategic relations, arms control and resolving irritants in relations.
The State Department announced that Shannon will also meet Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and other Finnish officials while in Helsinki.
