Thee US is ready to begin talks with North Korea provided that Pyongyang gives up nuclear weapons, said US President Donald Trump at Gridiron Club and Foundation dinner Saturday night.

According to the US President, Pyongyang contacted Washington to begin talks, but Trump noted that country's authorities must first abandon nuclear materials. Trump said North Korea has “to de-nuke”, Fox News reported.

As reported earlier, The North Korean Foreign Ministry says it's open to talks with the US but without any preconditions.

 “There had been no case at all where we sat with the U.S. on any precondition, and this will be the case in the future, too,” said North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman.
