German Social Democratic Party (SPD) voted in favor of forming “grand coalition” with Merkel’s conservative bloc, Reuters reported.
According to the source, 66.02 percent of party members back the new government.
The voting began on February 20, 2018 and went until March 2, 2018.
The decision ends almost six months of uncertainty in German politics.
