Eighteen people, among them children, were injured after a jet of a Siberian airline Utair skidded off the runway, slid into the river and caught fire.

The incident happened during a rough landing at a Sochi airport.  There were 164 passengers and six crew on board.

The fire was extinguished, local emergency services said.

Interfax reported that the employee of the Sochi airport died of heart attack when he helped to evacuate passengers of the plane. The source told Interfax that the man had health problem and “the cause of death is not directly connected to the incident”.
