Political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and Japan today in Yerevan, as reported the news service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Avet Adonts, and the Japanese delegation — by Deputy Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Director General of the Bureau for European Affairs, Special Representative for Asia, Caucasus and VUAM, Ambassador Hideki Uyama.
During the consultations, the parties recorded, with satisfaction, the course of the high-level political dialogue, discussed a broad range of issues on the Armenian-Japanese political agenda and exchanged views on further expansion and deepening of cooperation in trade, economy, science, education and other sectors.
The parties particularly touched upon the prospects for implementation of joint programs in the sectors of renewable energy, environmental protection, tourism and infrastructures.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Avet Adonts expressed gratitude for the multifaceted assistance that the Japanese government provides for Armenia’s development, and the Japanese party expressed willingness to continue its support to the process of reforms underway in Armenia and to capacity-building in various fields.
