US Deputy Secretary of State Intelligence Sue Gordon will leave his post at the same time as his boss Dan Coats on August 15, US leader Donald Trump said on Friday, Washington Post reported.
“Sue Gordon is a great professional with a long and distinguished career. I have gotten to know Sue over the past 2 years and have developed great respect for her. Sue has announced she will be leaving on August 15, which coincides with the retirement of Dan Coats. A new Acting Director of National Intelligence will be named shortly,” Trump tweeted.

Earlier, Trump announced his intention to nominate congressional Republican John Ratcliffe for this post but later announced that Ratcliffe decided to stay in Congress.
Coates displeased Trump when he criticized his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with NBC presenter Andrea Mitchell last July. By the way, TV journalist Andrea Mitchell will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 40th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards.
