The UN Security Council warned that violation of ceasefire regime between Israel and Lebanon in the south might lead to new conflict that none of the regional countries can afford.

The warning was unanimously approved by means of a resolution extending the mandate of UN peacekeepers in the south of Lebanon till 31 August, 2020.

The Security Council urged the parties to show restraint and to refrain from any action or rhetoric that could jeopardize the cessation of hostilities or destabilize the region.
