May 11, newly appointed Ambassador of Belgium to Armenia Stefan De Locker presented his credentials to RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

Serzh Sargsyan noted that Armenia is extremely interested in expanding cooperation with Belgium in bilateral and multilateral formats, RA presidential press service informed NEWS.am. The sides welcomed significant cooperation within EU Eastern Partnership project.

The two also exchanged opinions on regional developments. Stefan De Locker emphasized that Belgium welcomes the Armenian leader’s efforts to normalize Armenian-Turkish relations and supports the process.

The RA President presented Armenia’s position on the current stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. President Sargsyan and Ambassador De Locker also discussed issues related to the RA President’s upcoming visit to Belgium, expressing hope that it will be an impetus to further development of bilateral relations.
