The Spokesman for U.S. Embassy to Azerbaijan Terry Davidson stated that Embassy welcomes Matthew Bryza’s nomination as U.S. Ambassador.

“We believe President Obama has chosen a very experienced diplomat, who knows the region,” Trend News quotes Davidson.

According to him, it is early to say that Bryza will be appointed, as his nomination should be approved by the Senate. “We do not yet know the exact date of the Senate's decision on the matter, but it should happen in the next few weeks,” he said.

Davidson stressed that Azerbaijan was always partner for U.S. in the region and the absence of the Ambassador might not be considered as a signal from U.S.
