YEREVAN. - Armenian Minister of Finances Vache Gabrielyan met with German Secretary of State Jörg Asmussen. The delegation headed by Asmussen included German Development KfW Bank Vice President Eva Vitt, member of executive board Norbert Klopenburgh and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt.

Armenian Government and KfW signed a financial agreement aimed at conducting a solid waste management expert analysis in the Armenian city of Vanadzor and surrounding communities.

The study will specify the activities needed for closure of current landfills, choice of new landfill locations in accordance with EU norms and determining the necessary measures for their construction.

The expert analysis will last for 10 months, the amount of the grant is 650 thousand Euros.
