U.S. President Barack Obama had to interrupt his vacation as a magnitude 5,9 earthquake struck off East Coast on Tuesday.
The quake shook skyscrapers in New York City. The strongest tremor was registered at a nuclear power plant in Louisiana, where two reactors stopped.
John F. Kennedy and Newark-Liberty International Airports stopped operation. Washington’s National Cathedral was also damaged. No information on casualties is available.
