The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan, had narrow and extended meetings with Margaritis Schinas, Vice President of the European Commission of the European Union (EU) and Commissioner for Promoting European Way of Life, informs the press service of the Armenian government.
During the meetings, the key matters on the agenda of Armenia-EU relations were discussed. In particular, the full implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the effective implementation of the benchmark programs developed under the EU Economic and Investment Plan were emphasized on both sides.
The interlocutors particularly emphasized the importance of starting the Armenia-EU political and security dialogue, as well as of the deployment of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia.
After the meetings, Mher Grigoryan and Margaritis Schinas made statements announcing the official start of negotiations on EU visa liberalization.
