YEREVAN. – Those in charge of electricity supply in Armenia’s Lori Region have come up with an interesting novelty, Hraparak daily writes.  

“In place of electricity debts, the electricity network’s inspectors agree to accept natural products, such as eggs, chickens, and meat legs, from the villagers. Of course, it is difficult to accurately decide upon the equivalent between electricity and natural products, but the inspectors are making mutually beneficial calculations. But the unfortunate villagers have no alternative if they do not agree. The alternative is being deprived of electricity. We learned that one egg is calculated as two kilowatts, and the villagers’ debt is considered paid. This principle is used on the residents of Haghpat, Akhtala, and Odzun [villages],” Hraparak writes.
