YEREVAN. – The problem of emigration is worrisome; it is at the focus of Armenia’s authorities, and the country’s president has outlined the steps being taken in this direction, National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker and the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov stated, during a press conference on Monday, and stressed: “Those who have done noting for statehood are the ones who are criticizing.”    

And in response to the question as to whether world-renowned singer Charles Aznavour—who had stated that an internal genocide was being committed in Armenia, and as a result the youth were leaving—likewise has done nothing, Sharmazanov said: “Charles Aznavour is a great Armenian, a national here, [and ] he renounced his words.”

But to the observation that Aznavour did not renounce his words that the mafia rules in Armenia, NA Deputy Speaker responded: “I respect his view, even if it is extremely critical.”
