The time has come for elections in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump has said.

There haven’t been elections in Ukraine for a long time. It’s great to say, we can’t hold elections. But the time has come for elections in Ukraine, Trump said at a White House press briefing on Wednesday.

Earlier, the US president said that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s approval rating had dropped to just 4 percent, and Ukraine must hold elections if Kyiv wants a seat at the table for the conflict settlement negotiations.

In response, Zelenskyy said that Trump had fallen victim to Russian disinformation.

And already on Wednesday evening, Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator” for refusing to hold elections in Ukraine, and once again pointed to his extremely low approval rating.
