YEREVAN. – UN Eastern European Group confirmed Wednesday Armenia’s Permanent Representative to UN, Karen Nazaryan’s nomination as 2012 Chairman of the Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations.

This special committee’s task is to discuss the governments’ proposals, which aim to improve the capacity and efficiency toward carrying out the Organization’s activities and objectives.  

Unlike other UN agencies, the Special Committee on the Charter reaches its decisions by way of general agreement, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
