Hostilities between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control have resumed after hours of relative calm, Al Jazeera reported.
There are reports of intense artillery fire along the Line of Control in Kupwara, Poonch, Uri and Samba.
Civilians in the border area are living in growing fear and thousands have fled their homes.
Reuters reports that about 10 explosions occurred near the Srinagar airport in Indian Kashmir.
