ISTANBUL. – After a six-year renovation, the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, which is located in Istanbul’s Shishli district, reopened and celebrated its first mass on Sunday.
The Mayor of Munich, Christian Ude, Shishli Mayor Mustafa Sarigul, and Armenian Deputy Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Aram Ateshyan were on hand at the event.
Archbishop Ateshyan thanked Shishli’s mayor, for renovating the Church on the account of the means provided by the District Hall, and presented special gifts to the mayors of Shishli and Munich, Cihan News Agency informs.
