Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered the deployment of additional US forces to the Middle East amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. Hegseth wrote about this on X.
“Over the weekend, I directed the deployment of additional capabilities to the United States Central Command Area of Responsibility [meaning the Middle East],” Hegseth wrote.
"Protecting US forces is our top priority and these deployments are intended to enhance our defensive posture in the region," he added.
