YEREVAN. – In 2011, Armenia’s foreign trade turnover reached US$ 5.5 billion, and thus exceeded the previous year’s indicator by 14.4 percent, the National Statistical Service informed. 

Also, the volume of import constituted $4.1 billion and that of export, $1.3 billion. 

The country’s negative foreign trade balance was $2.8 billion, and import surpassed export 3.1 times. 

In comparison with 2010, the past year’s volume of export increased by 27.7 percent and that of import, by 10.7 percent.   

And one US dollar’s annual average calculation exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), was AMD 372.5.
