The Hungarian foreign minister has openly admitted in a Facebook post that Budapest is the only obstacle to Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU).

Peter Szijjarto commented on the statement of his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha, who, according to Szijjarto, hates Hungary and constantly attacks it.

"As long as we are in power, Ukraine will not be a member of the European Union, because the Ukrainians will bring war to the EU and thus drag us into their war. The Europeans, including the Hungarians, will take their money to Ukraine, destroy our farmers with their bad grain, and the Ukrainian mafia will use us as transit points. As long as we are in power, this should not happen.

At the same time, we know that if the Tisza Party [of Hungary] comes to power, they will immediately give the green light to Ukraine’s joining the Union, they will drag us into the Ukrainian war and send our money to Ukraine. It is easy to understand why Ukrainians were interested in Tisza’s victory. And so, on April 12, the question will arise: peace or war? Hungary or Ukraine?” the Hungarian FM noted.

Earlier, Kyiv and Budapest had exchanged accusations regarding interference in the Hungarian elections.
