PreferredIn order to officially launch the first social program in cooperation with Aparan town hall, Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Masanori Fukushima arrived in Aragats village of Aparan on August 17.
With the grant program of 34 million drams (approx. US$88,850) of the Japanese government, the outpatient clinics in Aragats, Kuchak, and Shenavan villages of Aparan will be thoroughly renovated and their heating system will be installed.
According to Karen Yeghiazaryan, the mayor of Aparan, the improvement of the building conditions of the primary healthcare centers in the aforesaid three villages of Aparan, and the creation of the heating system will considerably change the quality of community life; people will not have to go to Yerevan to receive first aid.
"Each of the three villages will serve four more villages, so these three outpatient clinics together will be able to serve at least 15 thousand inhabitants of 13 settlements; funded medical care," said the head of Aparan.
The signing ceremony of the respective memorandum of cooperation began with the ambassador singing the Armenian song "Hayi Acher" (Armenian Eyes), which has become his “business card.”
In his speech following the official part, the Japanese diplomat expressed hope that after the effective implementation of this project, they will expand the scope of their cooperation with Aparan.
Mayor Karen Yeghiazaryan, for his part, expressed readiness to complete the initial phase of this cooperation with quality and to develop new grant programs for cooperation with Japan and for the development of Aparan.
Investment projects with a total amount of about $300 million s are currently being implemented in the enlarged community of Aparan, including the creation of a tourism zone, as well as various social work being implemented by community and Armenian government efforts in all 22 settlements, including Aparan town.
