YEREVAN. – Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan issued a message in connection with 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“The objective of our people’s executioners was to continue the physical eradication of the Armenians. Today, we prove that the slaughterers were unsuccessful. They were unable to annihilate the Armenians. They could not silence those individuals and states which are alongside the Armenian people, in the name of the triumph of justice and exclusion of crimes being committed against humanity.

Armenian Genocide survivors still live in our country, and together with them we mourn the memory of our forebears, and with the conviction that Turkey will confront its history, sooner or later, and the hideous crime of genocide will be assessed accordingly.

We are aware that it is solely through our existence that we can surmount the tremendous pain of the Great Genocide. We are obligated to move toward the future, by crafting a decent future for our statehood and the Armenian people,” the PM’s message specifically reads.
